Sniff

Linda says that kitties sniff things because they’re trying to figure them out.
It’s not just, sniff, sniff, “Ohhhh, salmon!”
In addition to that it’s also, sniff, sniff, “Hmmmm.” Sniff, sniff — head tilt — sniff, sniff, “Ahh! Vintage Nikon Coolpix E995, circa 2004 with OEM Nikkor FC-E8 fisheye converter! Noice!

  1. Yeah I read that too, that kitties are not just sniffing to figure out the normal information that we humans gather from our olfactory senses. Cats can gather information from their sniffing like; where you were, what you were doing, who you were with, how you feel. Of course all of that information is filtered through their cat brains and their individual personalities. Also, this informaiton is filtered through the relationship that you and your cat have. Scientists have done studies on this stuff. It is pretty amazing stuff. And when the cat opens their mouth while sniffing that means that they are using extra sensory pouches to take in the total picture. Ok I am off of my little Ivory Soapbox of kitty info. It is a small passion of mine.
